Our Favorite Bedroom Decor Under $100.
When I moved last month from D.C. to San Francisco, I came with two suitcases of clothes, no furniture and a lot of blind faith that everything I ordered online would be at my doorstep when I arrived at my new place. That plan worked for the most part, as I ordered just about everything for my new bedroom online from IKEA, Target and Amazon. Since I was an RA for the majority of my time in college, I had never before purchased furniture and really had no benchmark for how much I should be spending on the things I needed. But I knew I was on a super strapped (read: broke) post-grad budget, so I set a couple of rules.
I decided I would buy things that were high-quality, practical and with a price tag under $100 (aside from my bed frame and mattress) — most things were even under $50. More importantly, I also wanted my new space to feel like home. I brought some art and framed photos from the east coast, along with a few too many knick knacks that needed a new home of their own. This roundup channels all of my golden rules for putting that relocation check to work and making the homiest new space on a budget.
