Wrapped Up.
I’m officially feeling back in the groove of things after getting home from Europe (more on that coming soon) and kicking a little cold I picked up while traveling. Airplane germs are the worst! While the chilly fall weather was a nice change, it feels good to be back to my usual light jacket and sweater wardrobe, and you know… not living out of a suitcase for a bit ☺️
Lately I’ve been all about layering as a means to stay warm enough for the unpredictable temperatures we have here and also feel like I’m dressing for a new season, even though the weather is pretty much the same. I grabbed this J. Crew wrap cape during a recent late night online shopping spree and have been throwing it on instead of my jacket to add a little extra warmth. It’s not too heavy or bulky (some capes can feel like you’re wearing a blanket) and the stripe and fringe detail pairs really well with otherwise basic pieces like a black t-shirt and your classic dark denim.
A wrap cape can be a great alternative to a jacket because of how versatile they are – feeling chilly on an airplane? A cape works really well as a blanket for a cozy top layer, plus they can be easily stashed in your bag if you end up being too warm. Plus, this one’s under $40, even before being on sale, so it’s a really affordable and functional accessory piece for all of your fall layering needs.
Have you tried wearing a cape instead of a jacket?
