The Black Slip Dress.
I’ll fully admit that I’m more of a flowy than form-fitting dress kind of gal. I like the movement of having some extra fabric around and let’s be real… I also like not having to worry about skipping dessert or dealing with the torture that is wearing Spanx. I don’t quite see this changing anytime soon but when you find a dress that makes you feel like a million bucks (but actually costs less than $30), you go with it.
Slip dresses have been everywhere lately and after writing them off as ‘too sexy’ for my style, I finally get it. They’re simple and classic in just the right way but damn do they make a girl feel good. This Leith option from Nordstrom was a bit of an impulse buy and I’m already dreaming of a fancy party or date night to wear it to. The black fabric hugs your body in just the right places while the lace detail at the hemline adds some interest to an otherwise super simple silhouette. And can we talk about this clutch? I’ve loved Claire V clutches forever but have always struggled to justify the cost and this option from BP is a total lookalike but costs under $50 (win!) and goes with nearly anything in your wardrobe, from dressy to causal.
