Spring Break Essentials.
It’s finally starting to look and feel a bit like spring here in the District with blooming cherry blossom trees and lots of sunny days. For my college friends, that means spring break is finally upon us — or if you’re not in school anymore, March is still the perfect time to give yourself a little downtime. Whether you’re heading to the beach, like Cait, spending a few days seeing the sites in the city, or indulging in a staycation (like myself), we rounded up some budget-friendly items to add to your packing wishlist.
FOR HEADING TO THE BEACH //
Cait spent her version of spring break by the ocean in Mexico on a girls’ trip to Tulum and Cancun. A beach trip like this calls for adorable swimsuits, a comfy towel to lounge on and, of course, plenty of sunscreen.
COOLA sunscreen spray // Old Navy slide sandal // Bauble Bar earrings
// Essie gel nail polish // One piece swimsuit // Wrap bikini // Anthropologie romper //
Beach towel // St. Tropez bronzing mousse // Ray-Ban sunglasses
FOR VISITING A NEW CITY //
Traveling in the city always means lots of long days and tons of walking. If you’re headed for the city, look for comfortable pieces, fun layers and easy beauty products that will stay all day.
Living proof dry shampoo // Denim Jacket // Madewell denim // Pixi makeup setting spray
// BaubleBar earrings // Chelsea booties // Fossil crossbody bag //
Yes To makeup removing wipes // Lomography instant camera // Madewell dress
FOR ENJOYING A STAYCATION //
I’m spending most of my spring break here in D.C. to do some writing. If you can’t get away this month, take a weekend to relax with some face masks, easy outfits and a good book.
Madewell tee // J. Crew denim // Urbanears headphones // Origins charcoal mask
// Kate Spade notebook // Lush bath bomb // Madewell dress //
Swing Time by Zadie Smith // Essie gel nail polish // Forever 21 cutout flats
