All Black Everything.
I don’t know if it’s more laziness, efficiency, or me finding my signature style but I’ve been all about all black everything lately. Whether it’s for a day of client meetings or date night, I’ve been keeping things monochromatic with my favorite black denim paired with a sweater or tank and a leather jacket or this olive bomber from ASOS (it’s on sale for $30 right now – grab it immediately!).
There’s just something about a head to toe black look that looks polished and put together, when in reality, it’s just so damn easy. It’s the go to look of New Yorkers for a reason! Over the holidays I treated myself to two of Everlane’s $100 cashmere crew sweaters and they were basically all I wore while in Europe and have been on heavy rotation ever since. The quality is really great and the fit is just right – it’s the kind of piece you know you’ll have in your wardrobe for years, especially in a classic neutral like black (I’ve been eyeing navy next!)
And can I shout my love of these Johnston & Murphy Chelsea boots from the rooftop for a second? I’ve had them for a few years now (you’ve seen them here & here) and am so amazed by the comfort and quality situation they’ve got going on. I walk a ton and they’re one of the only pairs of shoes in my closet that I 100% know can withstand a day of miles and miles of walking, especially when traveling, yet they’re so classic and stylish. I wore them for a week straight in Europe and my feet were perfectly comfortable and warm when paired with some thicker socks and I fit right in with all of the stylish Scandinavians with their classic silhouette.
Do you have a go to uniform of your own? Anyone else having an all black phase right now?
