election day.
Happy Election Day! I voted a few weeks ago via absentee ballot (still need to get my Illinois license, whoops) and I must say, it’s not nearly as exciting as going to the poll. While I’m bummed to not be proudly wearing an “I Voted!” sticker, I know I’ll still be on pins and needles all day as results are tallied and our next President is determined. Regardless of results I still find it incredibly moving to know that the election will ultimately be the result of many individuals coming together – 2008 was the first election that I was eligible to vote in and I can vividly remember sitting in front of my television watching Obama’s acceptance speech from Grant Park, a moment filled with emotion and promise.
Here’s to the next four years, America. Let’s see where we’re heading.
