An Afternoon in Golden Gate Park.
While we’ve been out in San Francisco for ten months now (where did time go?!) I still very much feel like a newbie – there’s still so much to see and do! We’ve gotten very familiar with our neighborhood and the downtown area of the city through our usual day to day routines but have been making an effort to go beyond what’s most convenient and step outside of our downtown bubble to explore new areas and neighborhoods of SF.
As part of a recent partnership with noosa yoghurt, the brand challenged me to “try something noo” within my own city – it was the perfect excuse to ditch the to do list and dedicate an afternoon to exploring Golden Gate Park, which embarrassingly enough, we had only been to once, very briefly, right after we moved in January.
With Callie in tow we spent a few hours wandering around the seemingly endless park (Golden Gate Park is over 1,000 acres so yeah, it feels very endless!). The sunshine and crisp air and fallen leaves felt very much like fall, something we’ve really been missing during our first year without true seasons, and the park was full of an eclectic mix of kids, adults, couples, and lots of dogs. After starting off near the Conservatory of Flowers (which is supposed to be gorgeous but darn, no dogs allowed!), we weaved through a path with dense trees and all sorts of crazy plants and ferns and stumbled upon the section with the De Young Art Museum and the Academy of Sciences which felt like being back in Paris thanks to fountains, trees planted in rows and a pop-up art gallery and piano player in the amphitheater.
After a few hours we headed home, immediately making plans to come back and check out more of the park and brainstorming where to visit next on our quest to discover “noo” things within San Francisco. There’s just something oh so refreshing about stepping out of your comfort zone and carving out time specifically for discovering something new, you really never know what might become your new favorite! Noosa has definitely also been one of those things for me – I’m totally hooked and we may or may not have about 20 yogurts in our fridge at the moment. Things can go from new to favorite pretty quickly if you just give ’em a chance ;)
This post was created in partnership with noosa yogurt, and as always, all opinions are 100% honest and my own – authenticity is a top priority and I only partner with brands I truly love. Thank you for supporting the brands that partner with Pretty & Fun!
