The Perfect Outfit for Meetings.
Anyone else always seem to find themselves scrambling to figure out what to wear when a big meeting or client dinner pops up on your calendar? It’s one of those things that never seems to get easier and while my days of wearing suits for meetings are long gone (thank goodness!), I still always like to dress it up a bit when clients are involved and swap out my usual workweek denim for something fancier.
One combination that always works and requires little effort is sticking with black and white. A good pair of black dress pants can go a long way in your work wardrobe and the J. Crew Pixie Pants are my secret weapon because they’re comfortable, flattering and don’t wrinkle – the trifecta when it comes to dress pants! They’re basically a fancy version of leggings which makes ’em perfect for those crazy days where you have to head right from the airport to a meeting. And speaking of meetings… while you’ll find me in boots or sneakers most days I still love to wear a pump for meetings and have finally found the perfect pair from M. Gemi – the height is just enough oomph to add some serious strut to your step yet they’re super comfortable which means you can rock them all day without your feet killing you. And who can resist cobalt blue?!

I also recently grabbed this ruffle blouse from Modern Citizen and guys… it’s just so fun. The ruffled hemline and tie detail on the sleeves amps up your typical basic white blouse and works hard so you can keep the rest of your outfit simple. If you haven’t heard of Modern Citizen yet you need to check them out immediately – they’re a really amazing San Francisco brand focused on elevated, everyday pieces for the modern woman. Think lots of neutrals that you can mix and match, work friendly pieces and all at a very affordable price point. Expect to be seeing lots more MC pieces on the blog… I’m hooked!
